Croatian author, during the 1980s, Ilijic directed the TV series Mrtvi se Ne Vraćaju (1983) for Television Belgrade (today Serbian Television) as well as the TV drama Oštrica brijača (1984), both dealing with war topics. In the 1990s, he worked in Croatia, making his only feature-length film, Djed i baka se rastaju (1996), based on Miro Gavran’s screenplay, and the TV drama Teško je reći zbogom (1998).
