Marijan Arhanić director

He took a degree in art history from the University of Philosophy in Zagreb, starting to work on film as assistant director in 1962. Together with Bogdan Žižić, he wrote screenplays for Žižić’s short films (e.g. Putovanje, Šala, Nož), and together with Davorin Stipetić (they also wrote two books with topics from art history) he wrote the screenplay for the feature-length film Jedanaesta zapovijed (1970), directed by Vanča Kljaković. He made two feature-length films: Poslijepodne jednog fazana, about a gloomy generation of young people, and Letači velikog neba, a film for children whose action takes place during WW II. He is the author of several educational documentary TV series (e.g. Hrvatska usmena književnost danas, 1983; Hrvatska kulturna baština slikom) and many TV programs about Croatian painters. His latest work was the documentary-feature TV series Zagreb - Zagrebačke priče i predaje (1995).
