Commentary:
This is an interesting and relatively intriguing film. The story is set in an atmospheric river landscape surrounded with shrubbery, puddles and sandy dunes. The authors insisted at the time on showing the fashionably estranged relations between young people on one hand and on the other their wantonness, and eventually on the emptiness of their existence. In that sense this film is undoubtedly stereotypical, but in many details there is an apparent shift towards the unconventional. The film even suggests the latent homosexuality of the character played by Rade Šerbedžija, and there is a mild hint of sadomasochism in the relationship between a young man and girl.
