Commentary:
Ante Babaja made this film as his creative manifesto. It deals with the so-called eternal questions: the meaning of life, love, death and the afterlife (whatever it may be). Metaphysical suggestions and eschatological motives are a rarity in Croatian cinema, so this is a refreshing approach. The visual aesthetic is superb. However, the stereotypical metaphors, anachronistic symbolism and the pretentious attempt at meaningfulness minimize one’s overall impression of the film.
