Commentary:
In this film Ante Babaja continues the naturalist-ethnographic poetics of his earlier films, with thye addition of a nostalgic-lyrical intonation. This is definitely Babaja’s most poetic film, characterized by the main character’s deep and everlasting alienation. Especially memorable is the first retrospective episode in which Countess’s young daughter shows her breasts, making the main character’s first erotic experiences possible.
