He was one of the most prominent directors of the 1970s and 1980s. He directed and wrote screenplays for the popular TV series Fiškal (1970) and U registraturi (1974), both based on novels by Ante Kovačić. The luxuriously produced TV series Velo misto (1981), based on the screenplay by Miljenko Smoje, represents the peak of his career. It was an ode to Split, its inhabitants, the soccer club Hajduk, and being Croatian in the Yugoslav context. It was one of the most popular TV series of all time. His only feature film, Zadarski memento, is a family saga set in the time from WW I through the capitulation of Italy in 1943. He was the author of the TV series Čedomir Ilić (1970), made for Television Belgrade, and the TV drama Harmonikaši (1976).
