Milivoj Puhlovski director


Birth: 22. 2. 1947., Zagreb


Puhlovski studied at the University of Philosophy and got a degree in directing from the Academy for theatre, film and television (today Academy of Drama Arts ). After many documentaries (e.g. Prvi put na Divljem zapadu, 1974, done in the USA; Moj prijatelj N.P., 1976), in 1979 he made his feature film debut Živi bili pa vidjeli (co-director with Bruno Gamulin), a story about a young married couple in a socialist society. In his second film, S.P.U.K. (Sreća pojedinca, uspjeh kolektiva), he dealt with the theme of the youth work actions characteristic of the socialist Yugoslavia. His biggest success so far has been the direction of a popular youth TV series, Smogovci (1982-1988), based on the novel and screenplay by Hrvoje Hitrec. He also directed the TV film Posebna vožnja ili Posljednja jesen Ivana Brežinskog (1995). For many years he has taught television directing on the Academy of Drama Arts.
