Commentary:
The biggest problems of this film are clumsy dramaturgy and poorly profiled characters and their mutual relationships. On the other hand, the fact that this is the first Croatian historical-adventure film since Mimica’s Banović Strahinja deserves certain respect. Moreover, all the genre rules were respected and correctly realized. The most impressive fact about this film is the fresh appearance of the gently erotic main actress, Zrinka Cvitešić. At the Pula Film Festival, Konjanik received Golden Arenas for Best Supporting Actor (Danko Ljuština) and Set Design. It was also shown in the official program of the International Film Festival in Mar Del Plata.
