The action takes place in contemporary Zagreb. There is a generational conflict between two brothers, Branko and Ivo. The main reason for their conflict is Ela, girl from a bourgeois family…
Vanja Drach (Branko), Marija Lojk (Ela), Slobodan Dimitrijević (Ivo), Branko Kovačić (grandfather), Rade Šerbedžija, Fahro Konjhodžić, Krešimir Zidarić, Etta Bartolazzi, Nevenka Benković
Country of production:
Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia (Socialist Republic of Croatia)
Krsto Papić, Zvonimir Majdak (collaborators Branko Ivanda, Ante Peterlić)
In his first feature film, Krsto Papić chose the theme of generational strife. The critics accepted it very hesitantly, and criticized him for his underdeveloped characters. However, from today’s perspective, many of their objections seem exaggerated. The visual expressiveness and the evocative atmosphere of this film are undoubtedly its strong points.
