Dražen Žarković director


Birth: 2. 11. 1970., Zagreb


Žarković took a degree in film and television directing from the Academy of Drama Arts in Zagreb. Since his high school days, he has worked on film as an amateur. At the end of the 1980s, he worked as an animator in the Studio for Animated Films in Zagreb Film. He has won two Octavians (Croatian Film Critics Association Award) as a co-director of the animated film Čekaj me (1993), as well as for the short student film Samopotjera (1993). He is also the author of a few award-winning short documentary films (e.g. Šalter, 2000, won the Octavian). He directed the TV drama Novogodišnja pljačka (1997), and his television production feature debut Ajmo žuti!, about supporters of a small soccer team.
